Saturday, July 15, 2006A friend asked me to configure her new MacBook. I’m the proud owner of a 2-year-old 12-inch PowerBook G4 1.33Ghz, and although I saw myself going for at least another year without getting a new computer, I must admit I’m very tempted. I love the MacBook’s screen size (13.3 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels compared to a 12 inch screen with a resoution of 1024 by 768 pixels on the PowerBook I own) and how its trackpad is able to function as a scroller (I think I can implement this on my PowerBook via third-party software — I’m certainly going to look into it). I also like the MagSafe power connector — it seems to hold in place better than Apple’s previous method. And the idea of being able to run Windows in it is a plus! (I’m a geek… I’m all for learning how to use and troubleshoot different operating systems — no matter how inferior they may be to my favorite operating system… Mac OS X. 😀 ) I think I’ll wait for the next release… November, perhaps? Great birthday gift for moi. 🙂 Posted by at 5:17 pm [Permalink]
