Last week, a first grader was tossing a quarter during recess time and in his last toss the coin ended under a truck that was being loaded. I told him to forget about it, to look for it when the truck was gone. Today, a weekend later, the child approached me and asked me permission to go search for his quarter. I said he could. I saw him and two buddies of his search for the quarter. I didn’t think they’d find it, so I told a 3rd grade student (my helper) to go near them, toss the coin, and say “hey guys, is that your quarter?” He did it… the child who had lost it said.. “at last I found it!” Hehe, that was my good deed of the day.

Hmm, it would have been funny if instead he had turned to his buddies and said… “see, I told you that if we looked hard enough we’d find another one! Lets now find a third…”
