Of all the money I’ve spent in the last six months, the worst spent were the 126 dollars that I paid for a CSUN parking permit. Today I arrived to a CSUN parking lot 45 minutes before I was due in class. I tried different things; going around looking for a lot, and staying in one place, hoping someone would come and take off.

At one point, I had my emergency lights on to signal the cars behind me to keep moving, that I was waiting for a spot. When a spot was about to become free, someone came from behind me and got ahead of me, and took the spot. I could have done crazy things to protest. Laying down on the free-spot was an option. Flicking-off the rude driver could have been another. Instead, I left the lot and parked away from CSUN. How far away? A 12 minute walk.

Tomorrow I’ll do the same, because I’d rather walk for 12 minutes than drive-around (or wait) ten minutes for a spot to become free.
