Saturday, March 29, 2003Three months had to pass before I could see my cell phone again. It was lost. I’m still not sure where it was. Laprima brought it to me. I think I heard that Denel had found it and placed it somewhere visible in my parents’ room. The first person I called was Alejandro. He’s the guy who got hurt in a motorcycle accident. My best friend in childhood. First thing I did was apologize to him for not having gone to visit him when the rest of my family did. Then I asked him how he was feeling. Things are getting better for him. He tells me he can walk now, but his back is still causing him problems. He’s no longer in pain, he says, and that’s good. He’s hopeful that soon he’ll be back in shape, to start making the bucks again. Very needed bucks they are. Right now he’s down more than 35,000 dollars. The hospital alone is charging over 30,000 dollars for the four days that he spent there. He says that the other party offered to take care of the hospital costs for him, if he was willing to sign a document. He probably did right in not having signed. He’s becoming impatient because he hasn’t heard from the lawyer that is handling his case. With so many bills amassing, I can see why he’s losing patience. I bet that as his patience runs out, the offer made by the other party becomes more tempting. Posted by at 7:46 pm [Permalink]
