Thursday, May 15, 2003I’m watching the morning news. They are showing a segment on reading for children. They have a man come and read to them. There are about 15 kids. The man is reading, and the newscasters support him by asking questions and adding their comments. And the children? They are waving at the cameras, looking elsewhere but at the reader. What a waste. That’d be discouraging to me, as a parent. Show me an angel-child, listening avidly, even if the little devil I have at home is not capable of doing that. Posted by at 5:47 am [Permalink]
