Monday, July 14, 2003The next time I’m at the public library, I hope some little voice in my head tells me, “Don’t borrow the book, buy it.” Earlier this year, I returned “One Flew Over The Cucko’s Nest”. It only took me a couple of months to return it. A couple of months past the due date! I paid a good five bucks — or maybe even more — for a book that costs less than ten. What’s worse, I only got halfway through the book! With that in mind, I had the choice of buying a book I must read for my English 102 class, or borrowing it from the public library. With the kind of record I got going down at my public library, I think I’ll be better off buying the damn thing! At least then I won’t have a librarian mad-dogging me as I’m returning it! I already tried looking for the book at Valley’s bookstore. They didn’t have it. Tomorrow I’m going to make a couple of phone calls to the local bookstores. Want to know the title of it? “The House of the Seven Gay Boys.” Heh, actually, it’s “The House of the Seven Gables”, but with my accent, I bet I’ll hear an old lady-librarian giggling when I ask her if the bookstore has any copies available…. 😀 Posted by at 9:16 pm [Permalink]
