… 168. That’s my current weight in pounds. Six weeks have passed since I started dieting/jogging, and seventeen pounds have been shed. Eighteen pounds to go, two months and a half to get them off me. Because I’ve been losing 3 pounds per week, I’m thinking that by the 1st of December (a month and a half away) I will have reached my goal of 150 pounds. However, soon I won’t be able to play soccer anymore because of the weather and the time-adjustment that’s forthcoming. I’ll have to shed them pounds off the hard way — jogging, when the weather allows it, and maybe even when it doesn’t! It’s all about sacrificing oneself to reach one’s goals.

The good thing is that jogging is not as big a drag as it was a month and a half ago. Back then, I recall I wanted to stop after only one lap. Now I can do one lap and follow it by two more before the question even pops up, “Should I stop now?” Sometimes, I even jog with joy. I speed up and almost feel like prancing, amazed that I can increase my speed with ease. Really. 🙂

I’ve also improved in the soccer department. I’m more willing to go after people to take the ball away from them. I’m also more willing to attack and take on defenders. It’s how I scored a goal today. 😎 (Yes, scoring a goal is rare for me, as I’m a midfielder; I pass the ball to teammates that have are in a position that allows a good pass from me to become a great opportunity to score.) More importantly, now I actually play with my teammates for the whole duration of the game. Six weeks ago I’d leave them in the middle of the game. And yes, some hated me for that. 😀

It’s sad that when I’m starting to enjoy soccer more, daylight-savings time kicks in and my soccer mates stop going to the park. Hopefully during this break from soccer I’ll manage to not go over 155 pounds. This presuming that I’ll reach the 150-pounds mark. And I will. 🙂

  2. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that (as you can read above) Laprima thinks I should stop losing weight. She’s sort of right, I look my best when I’m about 15 pounds overweight. Thinner than that, I look like an amargado — a mean person, a serial killer, if you will. 🙂 Fatter than that, my face’s cheeks almost match my butt-cheeks in size.

But I want to continue losing weight because I set a goal for myself, and I must meet it. When I meet it, I’ll consider whether or not I should take it to the next level — toning muscles. How long would a six-pack take? 🙂

Nah, getting muscles wouldn’t be a good idea, as long as I play soccer with the current crowd. There’s a muscular guy who plays with us, some people call him “Samson”, others refer to him as “Hercules”. If I start working on my muscles, I’ll look like a smaller version of him. Hence, people will call me “Herculito”. Or Culito for short — small ass. Hehe.
