Friday, October 24, 2003I got up on Monday morning to get ready for work. Noticing that I had more than an hour left to leave, and still feeling guilty about how much food I had consumed on Sunday evening, I went “Hmm.” Brushed my teeth, combed my hair, grabbed my radio, and for the first time ever, I jogged at the crack of dawn, on a weekday! A Monday, no less. What’s amazing is that I was able to get up on the remaining weekdays and do it all over again. Sometimes it was hard. Scratch that — it was hard every morning! But once I was a block away from home, there was no going back. I made the best of it. Some nice songs I heard while jogging eased things up for me. I also tried to focus on how great I’d feel at work, in the first hours there, knowing that I had gotten my workout done, and that I could come home after work and relax. Then there’s that “high” that one feels even hours after having jogged. This afternoon I weighed 165.5 pounds, with a stomach full of water. Can I make it to 162.5 by Friday? It’s okay if I don’t, as long as I’m able to jog every morning as I did this week, and eat healthy (by my standards, that is :)). Those pounds I “fail” to lose might be leg muscles… Posted by at 6:16 pm [Permalink]
