And if I’ve ever seen someone genuinely happy, it’s 10-year-old Amy. I had given her a call to let her know that her lost puppy was with me, at Jefferson, to come and pick him up. She said she wouldn’t take long, but coming from a female I thought to myself, “Riiiiiiight.”

She proved me wrong, however. Only a minute or two had passed since I had hung up the phone when I saw Amy running toward us, with the biggest smile I had ever seen on her face. She could not contain her joy… and it was my good luck that I was there to witness it. 🙂
