Saturday, July 31, 2004Gana La Verde is KRCA’s (channel 62 in Los Angeles) version of Fear Factor. The major difference between the two is the grand prize. Whereas Fear Factor will give the winner a considerable amount of money, Gana La Verde awards its winner… a Greencard. At least, that’s what they advertise. In reality, all the winner gets is legal counsel valued at 500 to 10,000 dollars. More likely than not, the value would be closer to 500 than 10,000, as in most of the cases all the interaction that will take place between attorney and client is: “Do you have a sibling, parent, or spouse who is a United States Citizen or permanent legal resident of the United States?” The client will respond “No” and at that point the so called “winner” of Gana La Verde will realize that he wasn’t the winner after all… he was just the last contestant to have been told he lost. But hey, if you’re a cute undocumented female, don’t lose hope, just wait for me to become available for marriage. You never know when TheGF will get tired of my antics, and I just might be in the mood to do you the favor. Do note, however, that the keywords here are “do” and “you”…”do you.” 😀 Posted by at 12:00 am [Permalink]
